India’s First Under Water T20 Cricket Match Held in Kovalam
Divers go below the boundary in Kovalam
As India gears up for the upcoming matches of the India-New Zealand T20 series, a group of divers decided to showcase their support and passion for the gentleman’s game in a unique fashion.
Scuba divers of Bond Safari Kovalam, an organisation based in Thiruvananthapuram, offered a cricket fans a treat underwater.

The team had demonstrated a game of “sea-bed” cricket at the Kovalam, one of Kerala’s most popular tourist destinations.
The teams were divided in the following manner:
Team A

Captain: Shibin Sebastian (PADI SCUBA DIVE INSTRUCTOR)

Aneesha Bendict (Scuba Divers)
Dr. Shanthanu (Scuba Divers)
“Cricket is a sport that unites India. As divers we believe sport and adventure know no boundaries. Hence, we chose to display a game of cricket in a special manner,” said Jackson Peter, Managing Director, Bond Safari Kovalam.
This match was also said to be a part of the organisation’s key motive – an awareness about the ocean and its inhabitants. Bond Safari Kovalam, previously, had also organised a wide range events including India’s First Under Water wedding, World’s First Under Water CEO’s Conference and India’s first Women Only Under Water Plastic Clean Up Activities etc..
